TÜBİTAK 1001 Success

Under the coordination of Asst. Prof. Dr. Barış Gürpınar from İzmir University of Economics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, the project titled “Comparison of the Inflammatory Gene Expression Response and Symptoms to Combined Land- and Water-Based Exercises in Individuals with Axial Spondyloarthritis” has been awarded funding within the scope of the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Grant Program.

The research team includes Asst. Prof. Dr. Seda Yakıt Yeşilyurt (İzmir University of Economics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation), Asst. Prof. Dr. Merve Başol Göksülük (Sakarya University, Department of Biostatistics), Asst. Prof. Dr. Yağmur Kiraz (İzmir University of Economics, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Genetics and Bioengineering), and Prof. Dr. İsmail Sarı (Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine). The project will investigate the biological and clinical effects of exercise approaches in individuals with axial spondyloarthritis.
