As the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, we held the "Healthy Aging Symposium" at our university, now in its third year as part of Elderly Week.
The event, which also drew interest from residents of Balçova Municipality, addressed current scientific approaches and practices related to the healthy aging process.
The symposium opened with remarks from our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Filiz Öğce Aktaş, and our Symposium Chair, Assist. Prof. Dr. Barış Gürpınar, and continued in two sessions.
In the first session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sena Dost Öntan and Lecturer Dr. Banu Değirmencioğlu informed participants with their valuable presentations, followed in the second session by Prof. Dr. Bahri Akdeniz, Lecturer/Specialist PT Hande Cörüt, and Research Assistant/Specialist Dietitian Merve Özen.
The program also featured a performance by the folklore team of the Egeyi Sevenler Culture and Art Association.
Held with great interest and participation, our symposium concluded following a question-and-answer session.
