Course Objectives In this course, it is aimed for students to learn basic knowledge about the physiotherapist profession, basic scientific theories and approaches related to human behavior, as well as the ability to establish accurate and effective professional communication, and to learn the basic principles of palpation and upper extremity superficial anatomy-palpation techniques.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • define the basic conceptual knowledge and working areas of the physiotherapist profession and its role in improving public health.
  • list the legislation and legal regulations related to the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and the professional platforms working in this field.
  • discuss the importance of communication in human relations and health.
  • discuss basic information about patient communication.
  • define approaches and research methods related to behavioral sciences.
  • explain types of sensation, perception, learning and memory.
  • define the basic principles of superficial anatomy and palpation techniques.
  • apply superficial anatomy and palpation techniques of upper extremity.
Course Description This course includes the definition, content and development of the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, physiotherapy and rehabilitation education and application areas, legal regulations, professional practices, team work in the field of health, the concept of communication and factors affecting communication, professional communication skills, research methods in psychology, neuroscience and behavior. Includes information on developmental psychology, social psychology and general and regional superficial anatomy, and correct palpation techniques of the upper extremity.
