Course Objectives To provide students with basic theoretical and practical information on the physical principles, physiological effects, application methods, indications and contra-indications and dangers of electrotherapy and heat-light modalities and to develop their ability to apply treatment methods.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • define basic concepts and principles related to electrotherapy methods;
  • explain the physical principles, physiological effects and application methods of electrotherapy modalities;
  • identify electro-physical modalities suitable for the patient and the disease;
  • define the physical properties of light and its application methods in physiotherapy;
  • explain the effects of hot and cold, application methods and indications and contraindications.
Course Description This course covers electrodiagnosis, galvanic current and iontophoresis, medium frequency currents, high frequency currents, physical properties and effects of hot and cold and their applications, physical properties of light and its place in physiotherapy.
