Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concepts of healthy life style and physical activity, and to make them comprehend the importance of activities and exercises in a healthy life style.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • explain the basic concepts of health;
  • list the factors affecting health;
  • discuss the importance of physical activity on healthy life;
  • define the concepts of physical activity, exercise, and sport;
  • describe the concept of physical fitness and its elements;
  • discuss the principles of exercise training and exercise prescription.
Course Description This course includes the definition of health and basic health, physical activity, exercise, and sports, inactivity, physical fitness, evaluation of physical fitness, exercise training principles, exercise training methods, pre-exercise evaluation, exercise types, exercise prescribing, indications and contraindications of exercise.
