Course Objectives The aim of the course is to improve the clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills of students by giving information about the clinical features of neurological diseases that physiotherapists frequently encounter.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • define the clinical features of neurological diseases;
  • classify the diseases according to the central and peripheral nervous system effects and describe the clinical features of lower and upper motor neuron involvement;
  • explain basic and neurophysiological measurement and evaluation methods of evaluation of lower and upper motor neuron effects;
  • define the effects of neurological disease on body functions; activity and participation and plan the treatment program.
  • choose the neurophysiological based treatment program suitable for the disease and apply it at the basic level;
  • prepare a clinical case project.
Course Description This course covers the clinical features of common neurological diseases such as motion sickness, demyelinating diseases, neuromuscular diseases, clinical features of upper and lower motor neuron interactions in terms of physiotherapy programs to be created, measurement-evaluation specific to diseases and neurophysiological-based treatment applications and students prepare a project.
