Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach the basic methods used in the evaluation and treatment of diseases that are encountered in the pediatric group, require physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and cause impairment and disability; also enable students to build basic level application skills.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • define the concept and scope of pediatric rehabilitation;
  • explain the situations that cause functional impairment, disability and handicap in the pediatric group;
  • apply physiotherapy evaluations in children with lower motor neuron lesions;
  • apply physiotherapy rehabilitation program in children with lower and upper motor neuron lesions;
  • list physiotherapy evaluations in children with cerebral palsy;
  • apply physiotherapy rehabilitation program in children with cerebral palsy;
  • apply appropriate evaluations and physiotherapy rehabilitation program in other conditions common in childhood such as torticollis, congenital brachial plexus injuries, risky babies and pervasive developmental disorder.
Course Description This course covers the evaluation and treatment applications specific to physiotherapy and rehabilitation of common childhood diseases such as lower and upper motor lesions, cerebral palsy, torticollis, congenital brachial plexus injuries, risky babies and pervasive developmental disorders.
