Course Objectives The aim of this course is to enable the student to develop a critical understanding and knowledge of epidemiology, pathophysiology and science in rheumatological disorders. It is aimed to provide a deep perspective on inflammation and to gain the knowledge and skills required for planning and applying the physical therapy program in different rheumatological problems.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • compare the roles of health professionals and multidisciplinary team in the treatment of rheumatology patients and the mission and responsibilities of the physiotherapist in this team;
  • define the phases of inflammation and physical therapy treatments;
  • explain the effects of rheumatological diseases and their effects on human body systems;
  • discuss evaluation and clinical findings specific to different rheumatological diseases;
  • plan a diagnosis-specific physical therapy program in rheumatological diseases.
Course Description In this course, the pathophysiology of rheumatological diseases and their effects on body systems will be discussed. Evidence-based evaluation and physical therapy applications in different rheumatologic problems will be addressed.
