Course Objectives The aim of this course is to instruct students about physiotherapy evaluation and applications in cases requiring intensive care, and research and discuss cardiopulmonary physiotherapy applications.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • define the intensive care unit and its equipment;
  • explain physiotherapy in the intensive care unit, its aims, indications and contraindications;
  • apply physiotherapy evaluation in intensive care;
  • adapt mechanical ventilators and their applications to the physiotherapy program;
  • create a patient-specific physiotherapy program with physiotherapy approaches for different diseases in intensive care;
  • define the importance of multidisciplinary work in intensive care and their duties in the team.
Course Description This course covers, instruction of the Intensive Care Unit, physiotherapy approaches and clinical decision making in intensive care unit together with evaluations of examples from our country and the world.
