Course Objectives The aim of the course is to provide patient-centered clinical problem-solving skills by enabling students to identify problems in case groups that they frequently encounter during physiotherapy clinical studies, to compile appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches by accessing evidence-based scientific data, and to discuss personal and environmental factors that affect treatment approaches.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • compile information by searching library and web-based resources within the scope of case study;
  • define the problems of the case at the level of disorder, activity and participation after physiotherapy evaluation;
  • explain personal and environmental factors affecting activity and participation limitations within the scope of case study;
  • apply the biopsychosocial model in clinical decision making process;
  • identify evidence-based clinical approaches within the scope of case study;
  • present the results of the evaluation, short and long term treatment goals and plan within the scope of a case study, taking into account the ethical values effectively;
  • discuss alternative approaches and views on treatment, based on scientific grounds;
  • work effectively in the group by taking responsibility.
Course Description This course covers student group studies on case reports in neurological, orthopedic, pediatric and rheumatic etc. diseases requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation, compiling by accessing up-to-date information about the disease, planning and discussing treatment practices.
